ACTIVITIES
Guided Tours.
11.00am Guided Tour - An easy walk around the facility with one of our friendly and expert guides. In the tour your guide will get you up close and personnel with all our famous Australian animals with an informative and fun filled commentary.
On the tour you will pat a koala, see the ferocious sounding Tasmanian Devils, feed Kangaroos, meet and pat Patrick the Wombat, see some of the most venomous Snakes of the world, see giant Saltwater Crocodiles and much more!
Interactive Animal Shows.
On Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and school holidays, (Victorian school holidays only). Interactive animals shows occur between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Please see the show times below:
1:30pm - Snake Show.
2:00pm - Koala Show.
2:30pm - Wombat Show.
3:00pm - Alligator Show (Saturdays) or Crocodile Show (Sundays)
3:30pm - Tasmanian Devil feed and Spotted-Tail Quolls Feed.
Meet The Keeper.
Running on weekdays only. Between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Please see times Below:
1:30pm - Reptile round.
2:00pm - Koala round.
2:30pm- Wombat round.
3:00pm Crocodile OR Alligator round.
3:30pm Tasmanian Devil and Quoll round.
Meet the keeper offers you the oppotunity to see the animal keeper interacting with the animals, either feeding, cleaning or inspecting the enclosures. Please note; these are not a guaranteed feeding.
Reptile House. (Open from 10am - 5pm).
The reptile house is home to over forty different species of reptiles. This includes; frogs. lizards, snakes, turtles, alligators and crocodiles.
Koala Enclosure/Nursery.
Watch some of our thirteen koalas in their natural habitat from the glass enclosed viewing platform. Don't forget to stop by our Koala nursery where you can sometimes see our baby koalas with their mothers.
Animal Experiences.
At the Ballarat Wildlife Park we help you remember your exciting experience by offering a photo to take home with you and one of our animals. All of our photo experiences are weather dependant so please call the Park to ensure they are running on the day you wish to visit.
You can choose between a koala (not holding due to Victorian Laws), a snake, a wombat and a Giant Tortoise. Experiences range from $12.00 to $25.00 with extra copies at $10.00 each. We allow four people per photo.
Cafe.
Our undercover café, provides a selection of hot and cold appetizers and is a fully licensed venue.
Souvenirs.
Remember your visit to the Ballarat Wildlife Park by purchasing a souvenir from our extensive range of items, including t-shirts, postcards, toys and much more.
Kids Birthday Parties.
The Park has recently launched a new kids birthday party program. Please contact the park for further information on details and prices.
The Bushman's Hut.
Experience early colonial life in a recreated 1840's bushman's hut. We cater for various different functions in our Bushman's Hut that is fully enclosed and seats up to sixty people. For weddings, parties, work functions, or meetings keep this function centre in mind, and contact the Wildlife Park for further details
Picnic area.
Visitors to the Park can relax in the tranquil setting to enjoy their picnic and watch the kangaroos and emus roaming freely throughout the Park.
Red Kangaroo
This large, strong marsupial is reddish-brown above and paler below. A broad white stripe runs along the cheek, the muzzle has black and white markings with a partially bare tip. The hind feet have no first digit, the second and third are joined with a double claw and the fourth is much longer than the others.
